Round Cut Diamonds

By far the most popular of the diamond cuts, round cut diamonds are also referred to as brilliant cut diamonds due to their stunning sparkle. Because the round cut shape is so brilliant and versatile, round cut diamond engagement rings can be designed to suit any taste.

Created by Marcel Tolkowsky in 1919, round cut diamonds traditionally have 58 (or 57, if they have no culet) facets. There are typically 33 facets on the round brilliant cut’s crown and 25 on the pavilion. While this facet count is the standard for almost all round diamond cuts, the exact proportions for an Ideal cut round diamond are still debated internationally.
